Early in 2024, Maumee was voted as America’s Strongest Town. Building on that momentum, the City is working with community stakeholders, businesses, and residents to collaboratively create a Community Master Plan. The plan will guide decision-making and set the stage for growth in Maumee over the next five to ten years. It will establish a shared vision, provide strategies for improvements, and create concepts for potential development in key places.

The project team cast a wide net for information gathering to ensure recommendations for city-wide improvements are aligned with long-term goals that have broad support. The planning team reviewed existing documents covering topics ranging from sustainability, parks, and trails to community amenities, public health, and school district priorities. It held one-on-one meetings with key stakeholders and group meetings with organizations including the Maumee Uptown Business Association, Chamber of Commerce, Quality of Life Committee, Arrowhead Business Park, and Churches United. To reach the broader public, this website is being promoted as a source for information and project updates. Additionally, the team attended summer events, hosted pop-up meetings at popular community destinations, collected survey responses, conducted a map activity, and gave out posters, yard signs, and stickers for residents to display and share.

A Summary of Understanding has been compiled to share the results of input received to date, analytical work conducted, and emerging goals - all of which will feed into forthcoming draft recommendations.
