This Is Home Place Overview

Carmel adopted its new Comprehensive Plan in December 2022. A critical component of that Plan is to create Sub Area Plans throughout the city. Home Place is one of the first Sub Area Plans to be developed. While the Sub Area Plan will be amended into the Comprehensive Plan, this planning process will establish an even deeper understanding of Home Place’s needs and opportunities while reinforcing the community’s unique identity. It will be a plan for and by Home Place.

This effort started in April 2024 and will continue into Spring 2025. Along the way there will be multiple opportunities for you to stay in the loop, provide input, and get involved to shape the outcome and what comes next.

Meet Your Community Ambassadors!

Robin has been a proud Home Place resident for over 25 years. With over 10 years of experience in marketing and community engagement, particularly as a Marketing Specialist at SePRO Corporation, she is excited to leverage her skills to foster strong connections within the Home Place neighborhood. Robin will be supporting the This Is Home Place Community Plan during weekday evenings and as part of occasional weekend events. Lindsay has been a resident of Home Place for the past 8+ years and worked and socialized in the Carmel area for many years prior. She enjoys nature walks with her family and hiking the trails in the many parks the area has to offer. Lindsay has developed a deep appreciation for this unique neighborhood and looks forward to fostering connections and enhancing the vibrancy within our community.

Test Phase

Open House event invitation

Let’s work together to build a future for Home Place that reflects our community values.

The Home Place Subarea Plan Open House occurred on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clay Township Government Center Garage (10701 N College Ave). This event launched a new round of community engagement about potential ways to beautify and address opportunities in the business district at 106th Street & College Avenue. The input collected will inform the eventual recommendations that get incorporated into the final plan.

The concepts and information shared at the Open House have been formatted into Survey 2 so we can continue to gather community insights. Please check it out and share the link with fellow Home Place community members!
